A Taste of Mercy – Gala

“A Taste of Mercy” Gala is the organization’s signature fundraising event, that is held annually in June. It is a wonderful reception featuring foods, refreshments and music. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Continuing the Mercy Tradition”. During the event we will present our annual Hope and Hospitality Award to – Beth Coco, a former member of the Circles Board of Trustees, the initial Chair of the Board, and Mercy Associate, for her efforts in supporting the mission of mercy at Circles. In addition during the gala event, the Sister Gail Rieth Volunteer Award, which we established in her memory, will be presented to – Mr. Thomas J. Horan (posthumously) and Mr. Stephen Reilly (Student Intern – Columbia High School). Circles of Mercy, is a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Mercy NE Community. With an eighteen-year tradition of providing hope, hospitality and empowerment to Individuals in the Rensselaer Community, especially women and women with children… The “A Taste of Mercy” Gala is a Celebration of Catherine’s Circle of Friends, having the theme of “Continuing the Mercy Tradition…” Organization: Circles of Mercy, Inc. Regular guests include Representatives from the Animal Protective Foundation; faculty from the various area institutions of higher learning discussing health and community issues; Representatives from City, County and State agencies; actors and directors from the theREP, Proctors Theatre, Circle Theatre Players at Sand Lake Center for the Arts, Schenectady Civic Players, Schenectady Light Opera, Albany Civic Players, Classic Theater Guild, and many other area theatrical groups; Tax Specialists from the Internal Revenue Service (during tax season); Representatives from Schenectady County Library; area museums including miSci & ESAM and many area non-profit organizations. We also try to highlight local artists and musicians whenever possible.
