On April 29, 2015 Zonta Club of Schenectady will hold its 5th Annual MOM PROM: the Ultimate Ladies’ Night Out for a Cause to raise funds for our Community Service Grant to benefit Working Group on Girls of Schenectady, Inc.

This fun and festive “throwback” event not only serves to raise crucial funds for the WGG, but also to highlight and celebrate the importance and impact of women giving back in their communities.

In that spirit, it is with great pleasure that will honor Elaine Houston as our 2016 Mom Prom Queen!

Our membership feels she exemplifies everything that MOM PROM celebrates with her inspiring track record of service and support of women in our region and beyond. “MOM PROM” – a National Women’s Night Out for Charity now in its 10th year. This fun and exciting evening is strictly for the ladies and features dancing, dinner, contests, raffles, silent auction and much more!

Regular guests include Representatives from the Animal Protective Foundation; faculty from the various area institutions of higher learning discussing health and community issues; Representatives from City, County and State agencies; actors and directors from the theREP, Proctors Theatre, Circle Theatre Players at Sand Lake Center for the Arts, Schenectady Civic Players, Schenectady Light Opera, Albany Civic Players, Classic Theater Guild, and many other area theatrical groups; Tax Specialists from the Internal Revenue Service (during tax season); Representatives from Schenectady County Library; area museums including miSci & ESAM and many area non-profit organizations. We also try to highlight local artists and musicians whenever possible.
