STEP Saratoga Therapeutic Equestrian Program
Pony Tales Literacy Program
Karen (Kay) Stanley White, PT MSCS, Exec. Dir.& Pat Wright, Volunteer Coordinator
STEP is offering a new program beginning this June called PONY TALES to address an emergent need in literacy among our children seen in our community that will also support its senior horses who have served capital district special needs populations for over 38 years. PONY TALES will be offered to Children ages 3+ up in private, small and large groups sessions throughout the week and weekends. The goal of PONY TALES is the integration of social and emotional learning with academics with a sentient being (the horse) building an empathetic citizen while developing minds find their voice and improve their quality of life. All in the UNIQUE setting of a STABLE!
Location: 244 Maura Lane Glenville, NY 12302
Dates: June through October
OUR NEEDS FOR THE PROGRAM
STEP is seeking volunteers with and without horse experience and/or professional backgrounds to work directly with the children
STEP is seeking continued financial support to allow all children regardless of their ability to pay participate. This good work is spearheaded by a generous gift from our STEP Friend and fellow equestrian, Mike Rach DVM.
