Cyrano at Ten Broeck Mansion
Joseph Plock, Producer
Alex Grandin, George Filieau, Actors
An unforgettable tale of comedy, romance, and war, Cyrano tells the story of Cyrano de Bergerac, a lovelorn soldier with an enormous nose that is dwarfed only by his love for the beautiful Roxanne. Roxanne, sadly, only has eyes for the handsome Christian, an inarticulate man who will need Cyrano’s way with words if he hopes to woo his love! From opera houses to pastry shops to the battlefield of a perilous siege, Cyrano and his comrades in the Gascony Guard fight against foes both external and internal as they seek a lasting peace within both France and their own troubled souls.
Come see this fresh and funny take on the classic Edmond Rostand tale as adapted by Michael Hollinger and Aaron Posner with translation by Michael Hollinger in a show that’s sure to entertain the whole family! (From their website) We have found the perfect location — Hello friends of THHC, just wanted to give you all an update on our progress thus far. - Organization: Tribes Hill Heritage Center
- Mission: The Tribes Hill Heritage Center is an educational facility, where children and adults can learn about and experience Native American culture and history as well as the history of the Mohawk Valley. The center’s vision includes a multi-building facility on 55 acres of land in Montgomery County, NY. Activities will include the teaching of land conservation, history, music, dance, ecology, and sales of crafts, both Native American and regional artistic endeavors. The organization’s hope is to boost the local economy with increased tourism, provide leather-working and other marketable skills to local people, while sustaining itself through craft, art, and food sales and usage fees. The first buildings proposed are: a leather stocking building, an “old town” (various settler style shops), and Native American vendors on site in the Powwow Grounds with demonstration dancing, as well as a display building of Native American arts and crafts. Much more is planned for the future!
