Producing New Artists !
Guests: Betsy Sandberg, Kids Arts Festival Chair and Lily Hanna, Student Artist
The purpose of the event is to provide an outdoor arts festival in downtown Schenectady for pre-school and school-age children. Thousands of children of all incomes and backgrounds participate in hands-on arts activities that are both fun and promote sound visual education principles. This year’s festival focused on the growing mental sport of robotics as well as kindness and caring, for the heart that robots often lack.
Thousands of kids and their families came to the 23rd annual Kids’ Arts Festival June 3 on the streets around City hall and the pedestrian mall on Jay Street. More than 50 community groups, businesses, non-profit groups and artists joined firefighters, the county sheriff and the Dudley observatory to provide tried and true arts and crafts activities for kids. Robots were a theme and we highlighted kindness and caring, celebrating the huge number of groups that really care about kids in Schenectady
Nearly every activity is free thanks to support from the Schenectady County Legislature, the City of Schenectady, the ElectriCity Arts district, dozens of volunteers and a long list of sponsors, which are on our website.

Bumpin Uglies – an Indy Film at Proctors !
Guests: Kevin Craig West, Actor/Director/DP and Susie Griswold, Actor/Writer/Director
Review: Independent films — and I mean truly independent films, not the ones bankrolled by a smaller subsidy of a gigantic movie studio — are often about relationships. And based on the name alone, you might think that Bumpin Uglies, a recently completed film shot in the Albany, NY area, is exactly that.
However, this engaging movie tries something different on an indy budget; it’s a police story with a good amount of drama, humor, and even some action, none of which are easy to pull off on a small scale nowadays. By Mike Spring, Times Union Independent Spotlight
From IMDB Site: It’s not porn, it’s prostitution! Detective Sara Ross leads her misfit Police team on a hunt to find Pinsky, the world’s most notorious prostitution ring leader, only to come head to head with Mavis Bonder’s FBI team, causing a stir in her case and her short temper.
Event: Bumpin Uglies – Screening with the cast and crew
Location of event: Proctors GE Theatre
Date/Time: Thurs. Jun 15 at 7 pm
Cost: $10 pp (non-cast and crew)
