We start filming at 10 am at Proctors Underground on Tuesday. A live audience is always welcome and there are plenty of seats. You can meet the guests in person and learn more about their projects or even get involved yourself.

LIVE music is better when John plays LIVE (from his website).
John Hill is a singer, songwriter, musician and entertainer based in Albany. A full time performing artist, john plays LIVE over 300 dates per year throughout the New York, Vermont and Massachusetts. In addition to performing in the food & beverage industry, I provide music therapy in the form of live performances at many of the retirement communities in the area.
Here is a guitar from Nazareth, Here is a harmonica blowing sad and sweet. An authentic voice sings with conviction. Train cars and prison bars. Sunday morning’s mortal warnings. Mountain music and songs of the sea. Hymns, ballads and waltzes. Here is a journey through the soul of the American Songbook
His live appearances feature soulful renditions by country greats like Hank Williams Sr., Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson; inspiring folk songs in the vein of Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Grateful Dead & Jerry Barcia and bluegrass standards by legends like Bill Monroe and the Stanley Brothers.

This is an occasion to celebrate the opening of our Schenectady studio and showcase a visual art show to raise awareness about art therapy & its use in mental health.
CREATE is an acronym for Capital Region Expressive Arts, Therapy & Empowerment. Our mission is to promote the use of art in healing, freedom of expression and community connection. We aim to help underserved populations (low-income and marginalized communities) gain access to expressive arts services through outreach, agency connections and workshops at our studios

Summer Break Classes & New Exhibits at miSci !

At miSci, all of our exhibits, programs, and events are designed with our mission in mind.
miSci is a dynamic science center that explores the area’s rich technological heritage while celebrating and fostering a regional spirit of invention and imagination.
Tinkering: Bring out your inner engineer at miSci’s latest hands-on exhibit from the San Francisco Exploratorium. A circuit bench, pulleys, animation stations and several other interactives will provide an engaging environment for tinkering. With the right materials in the right environment, anything can happen! Final weeks of this exhibit, closing June 19th.
Summer Science Classes: Informal, hands-on STEM education for students entering Grades 1 through Grade 8. Topics include Robotics, Rockets, Space Academy, KEVA, and of course, CSI Crime Scene Chemistry, Electricity, and much more! Weeklong classes run 9 AM to 3:30 PM daily, with before- and after-care available. Registration is available online or by calling 382-7890 x237.
Wind & Solar: The Renewable Energy Revolution: New exhibit opening June 1st! Sponsored by GE Renewable Energy. The exhibit will encourage visitors’ understanding of renewable energy technology and climate change factors, while inspiring advocacy for renewable solutions to society’s ever-increasing energy demands. Through hands-on interactives, dynamic visuals and a “magic globe”
Back to the Moon for Good Planetarium Show: This digital film highlights the history of exploring the moon and provides an insider’s look at the teams vying for the $30 million Google Lunar XPRIZE, the largest incentivized prize in history. The stunning visuals and compelling narrative of the show explain the importance of the Google Lunar XPRIZE in encouraging today’s space entrepreneurs and innovators to collaborate toward building a new space economy while inspiring the next generation to “shoot for the moon.”

First Impressions Second Chances !

FIRST IMPRESSIONS SECOND CHANCES is an extraordinary evening to benefit the Women of the Capital District Women’s Employment & Resource Center (WERC). This is our 9th Annual First Impressions Second Chances Networking Event to raise money for the programs and services of WERC to advance women’s success in the workplace.
The $40 ticket price includes a fabulous networking opportunity, fantastic buffet and vendors selling handbags, gourmet food, jewelry, accessories, and more.
Participating vendors and other local businesses have donated wonderful raffle prizes to raise additional funds. There will be a Super Raffle Drawing which includes great prizes — Apple Watch, Bluetooth Wireless headphones, Amazon Echo, Printer, and 10 Gift Bags full of gift cards and items worth over $300 each! Raffle tickets are only $5 each or 10 for $40! You need not be present to win.
We will have many winners that night but the biggest winners will be the Women of WERC. Join us and see firsthand the difference your gift is making and the women whose lives you are changing. We look forward to seeing you there!

Since 1988, WERC has provided quality workforce development services to more than 7,000 women from both Albany and Rensselaer Counties who have lost their source of income upon the death, divorce, separation, disability, or dislocation of a spouse, or who are single mothers, or left the workforce to care for an elderly parent. The Women of WERC complete our program with enhanced qualifications and skills, improved self-confidence, and a deep commitment to achieving excellence in their chosen workplace. Annually, WERC provides over 2,700 free services to women who need to return to the workforce giving them the resources, computer and career skills training, and the confidence needed to find employment in today’s competitive job market.

Taffeta Memories in the Park !

This musical comedy features The Taffetas– Kaye, Peggy, Cheryl and Donna – four singing sisters from Muncie, Indiana who in the 1960s were the talk of the town. Now almost 50 years later, they are putting on a reunion show. Take a walk down memory lane with them in this nostalgic musical.
It will be directed by Michael C. Mensching, with Musical Direction by Alex Malsan and featuring Joan Horgan, Debra May, Joanne Mensching and Judi Merriam.
