  • Ralph Brooks, Sheldon Grand, Roland Tozer, and Greg Hart

The accordion is coming back! And we are a venue for accordion players who are looking to get back into playing.  We are just having fun playing the instruments that we love, and we just want to share this with others.

(Submitted by group) We have made a CD which will be available at our performances. It’s a German theme and we are hoping to let folks know that we are available for OKTOBERFEST gigs.  However, we are not strictly a German Band.  We also have a Holiday Show, an Irish Show, a Patriotic and Summer Show. We are a band for all seasons, having played weddings, birthday parties, churches, picnics, etc.  We are always looking for members.  I teach for the Old Songs in Voorheesville, and we will be looking for children between the ages of 4-14, as well as the adults that I have been teaching for years (10-12 Years)

We are also scheduled to play at the Bethlehem Concerts on the Green on Wednesday, July 25. We will be playing RAIN OR SHINE on that day at 7 pm. This will be a family event.  We have also played for the Bethlehem Children’s School, and also at the Elsmere Elementary. We are trying to introduce this instrument to the children. So many children don’t even know what an accordion is! So, we are available for schools, and family fun days. I have been so lucky to have all of these talented players, and it is our goal to usher this fine instrument back into the community. Recently, we have had a write up in the American Accordionist Magazine.

School for Lies at Sch’dy Civic Players

  • Chris Foster, Director
  • Jason Biszick “Frank” & Angelique Powell “Eliante” &
  • David Rook “Clitander”

THE SCHOOL FOR LIES – by David Ives (adapted from Molière’s The Misanthrope.)

It’s 1666 and the brightest, wittiest salon in Paris is that of Celimene, a beautiful young widow so known for her satiric tongue she been sued for it. Surrounded by shallow suitors, whom she lives off of without surrendering to, Celimene has managed to evade love since her beloved husband died- until today, when Frank appears. A traveler from England known for his own coruscating wit and acidic misanthropy, he turns her world upside-down, taking on her suitors, matching her barb for barb, and teaching her how to live again. A wild farce of furious tempo and stunning verbal display.
