100 Women Who Care – Albany

100 Women Who Care Albany (100WWC Albany) is a group of women committed to impact giving and learning about Capital District charitable non-profits. Members make four, $100 donations throughout the year with checks made out directly to the selected charity. Collectively the money can make a significant impact on a local 501(c) (3) organization. 100WWC Albany meetings are efficient; meetings last one hour on the second Thursday of February, May, August and November. Members nominate charities, three are chosen in a drawing, the nominating member gives a brief presentation about her organization, a vote is taken and the checks are written to the selected charity.

Dare to Dream Event

Our 5th Annual Dare to Dream with SBANENY fundraiser is taking place on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Wolfert’s Roost Country Club in Albany. This is our major fundraiser and promises to be a fun filled evening featuring cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, unique live and silent auction items and live musical entertainment by Fresh. New this year, dancers and instructors from Roll Call Wheelchair Dance are traveling from Pearl River, NY to perform different styles of partner dance for our guests in attendance. In addition, they are facilitating SBANENY’s first Adaptive Dance Workshop the following morning at the Albany, YMCA. The Adaptive Dance Workshop is a fun and interactive opportunity for consumers to gain experience learning and practicing different styles of adaptive partner dance. We have also invited dance studio instructors and dancers in the Capital District to attend as partners to raise awareness locally.

- Mission: SBANENY’s mission is to promote the prevention of Spina Bifida and to enhance the lives of all affected. Our purpose is to SHARE: Support, Health & wellness, Advocacy, Respect & dignity, and Empowerment. SBANENY provides support services including information, referral, education, advocacy, and programming to individuals of all ages living with Spina Bifida, their families and providers.

This film was formerly titled “This is Nowhere”. World premier was held on Oct 24 at the Minneapolis Showcase Icon.
