  • Illustrator Event and Craft Time – Meet Samantha Cotterill in the McChesney Room in the Sch’dy Central library at 2 pm – Drop in for the entire family.
  • Niskayuna Fire Dist. #2 along with Albany Med Trauma Program is hosting a “Stop the Bleed” at 2772 Troy Sch’dy Rd in Niskayuna. Designed to teach both health care providers and laypersons ow to recognize and control life threatening hemorrhages. Noon to 1:30 pm or 2 to 3:30 pm (2 classes) email nfd2outreach@gmail to secure a seat (free event)
  • Jazz Day at Colonie Elks in Latham from 2-5 pm. Lots of music.

  • A Personal Account of Environmental Activism in China from noon to 1 pm in Room HU354 by Prof. Lihong Shi (Producer, Director & Funder of Wild China Film). SUNYA at 1400 Washington Ave. Albany

May 1 (Wed)

  • Canelo vs Jacobs Viewing Party at the Rivers Casino Event Center starting at 8:30 pm

  • Discover the Pine Bush at 1 pm – suitable for all ages. Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center at 195 New Karner Road.
  • Book Sale at the Sch’dy County Public Library – noon to 3 pm. $2 per bag of books)
  • Outside Schenectady Greenmarket – around City Hall from 10 am to 2 pm. Music, food, vendors and more.

Regular guests include Representatives from the Animal Protective Foundation; faculty from the various area institutions of higher learning discussing health and community issues; Representatives from City, County and State agencies; actors and directors from the theREP, Proctors Theatre, Circle Theatre Players at Sand Lake Center for the Arts, Schenectady Civic Players, Schenectady Light Opera, Albany Civic Players, Classic Theater Guild, and many other area theatrical groups; Tax Specialists from the Internal Revenue Service (during tax season); Representatives from Schenectady County Library; area museums including miSci & ESAM and many area non-profit organizations. We also try to highlight local artists and musicians whenever possible.
