The Community Hospice Foundation raises much needed funds to provide complementary therapies(massage, reiki and music) for our ever-growing hospice patients in the 9 counties we serve, as well as all bereavement support (adults and children) Hospice is currently providing services to 750 patients in the 9 counties we serve, one year ago it was only 540.

          The Community Hospice is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization providing high-quality end-of-life care to residents of eight counties covering over 4,000 square miles in Upstate New York State.

          Some of the most vulnerable people in our community are those who are struggling with advanced illness, facing the end of life, and recovering from the loss of a loved one.  The Community Hospice is committed to serving these people.

          While insurance reimbursements cover most costs, they do not fund the programs and services that reach out to care for Hospice patients and families in a comprehensive way.  No one is turned away due to financial need.

          That is where your active support comes in.  You can join the caregiving team by considering a donation to The Community Hospice. Contributions provide funds for community bereavement services, community awareness, educational programs, and special services so that Hospice care is readily available, fully understood, and appropriately utilized by those in need.

Regular guests include Representatives from the Animal Protective Foundation; faculty from the various area institutions of higher learning discussing health and community issues; Representatives from City, County and State agencies; actors and directors from the theREP, Proctors Theatre, Circle Theatre Players at Sand Lake Center for the Arts, Schenectady Civic Players, Schenectady Light Opera, Albany Civic Players, Classic Theater Guild, and many other area theatrical groups; Tax Specialists from the Internal Revenue Service (during tax season); Representatives from Schenectady County Library; area museums including miSci & ESAM and many area non-profit organizations. We also try to highlight local artists and musicians whenever possible.
