For the third consecutive year, Catskill’s award-winning Bridge Street Theatre has scoured the country to find the very best one-person shows around. And this March, the best of the best will be coming to BST’s “Priscilla” Mainstage as part of “SoloFest 2025” – four successive weekends of mesmerizing stories from some of the most brilliantly talented actor/playwrights this country has to offer. In this year’s eclectic, innovative, and diverse line-up, look for:
March 7 – 9: BENT COMPASS. Written by Colin Sesek and Neil Brookshire; performed by Neil Brookshire; originally directed by Phil Darius Wallace. One veteran’s gripping story of his journey from raw recruit to combat medic and back to civilian life, and how the experience of warfare forever altered the way he views the world.
March 14 – 16: HELP! I’M TRAPPED IN A ONE-WOMAN SHOW! Written by Mark Hampton and Kate Skinner; performed by Kate Skinner; directed by Michael Edwards. A hilarious and touching look at a middle-aged widow’s disastrous attempts to dip her toe into the murky waters of the online-dating pool. How do you begin to get on with your life once you’ve lost your true soulmate?
March 21 – 23: O TIME. Written and performed by David Zellnik; directed by Danilo Gambini. An investigation into a young Brazillian artist’s mysterious death leads a young American playwright on a profound journey of self-reflection. Based on actual events.
March 28 – 30: GHOST DANCE: PORTRAIT OF A MADMAN. Written and performed by Erica Knight; directed by John Ahlin. The tragic, tortured, exploited life of Hudson River School-inspired painter Ralph Albert Blakelock is reclaimed in this world premiere, created and performed by Blakelock’s own great-great-granddaughter!
All four shows will be performed Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2:00pm in Bridge Street’s intimate 84-seat “Priscilla” Mainstage, located at 44 West Bridge Street in the Village of Catskill, NY.
Advanced tickets for individual shows in “SoloFest 2025” are priced at $27 ($29 at the door), but a Festival Pass for admission to all four plays can be purchased for only $90 (Ticket prices for students ages 18 and under are only $15 per show). Also available is a $200 SuperValue Pass, which will admit you to all four SoloFest plays, plus all five productions in BST’s 2025 Mainstage Season, and entitle you to additional discounts and special offers.
