       For the Year of the Snake CCC will present an eighteen program show, with the largest performing team in CCC history. The program will include what expected such as authentic Drum play, Peking Opera, Chinese Kungfu, elegant traditional dances from different region, upscale Chorus, Folk instrument ensemble, modern hip hop dance and much more.

In Chinese folk culture, the snake was once the earliest totem of the Chinese nation and so has been called the ancestor god. Goddess Nuawa, who used her own body to fix the falling sky to save humankind on earth, has a human head and snake body. 

       The Chinese Community Center (CCC) is a resource center for the members of the Chinese American community and those who are interested in Chinese culture and language. The mission of the CCC is to foster and enhance the sense of friendship and unity among its community through the cultural and educational programs that we offer and through community service.

Show Content: The show usually includes six segments with a variety of guests interviewed each week. Regular guests include Representatives from the Animal Protective Foundation; faculty from the various area institutions of higher learning discussing health and community issues; Representatives from City, County and State agencies; actors and directors from the theREP, Proctors Theatre, Circle Theatre Players at Sand Lake Center for the Arts, Schenectady Civic Players, Schenectady Light Opera, Albany Civic Players, Classic Theater Guild, and many other area theatrical groups; Tax Specialists from the Internal Revenue Service (during tax season); Representatives from Schenectady County Library; area museums including miSci & ESAM and many area non-profit organizations. We also try to highlight local artists and musicians whenever possible.
