We start filming at 10 am at Proctors Underground on Tuesday. A live audience is always welcome and there are plenty of seats. You can meet the guests in person and learn more about their projects or even get involved yourself.

Mabee Farm Arts & Crafts Festival

We’re bringing together the very best of the Capital Region’s handcrafted goods! Join us as over 65 artists and crafters fill Mabee Farm with beautiful and eclectic handcrafted items including jewelry, soap, pottery, candles, mead, maple, wine, textiles, and more! All items are handmade here in our region.
Also on site are blacksmithing and woodworking demos, art and historic exhibits, nature trails, and tours of the 1705 Mabee farm house & 1760s Dutch Barn.

Family and Child Service of Schenectady

Family & Child Service of Schenectady, Inc. was established in 1930 as the initiation project for the Junior League of Saratoga and Schenectady Counties and along term partner with the United Way. We are a small private nonprofit specializing in providing personalized in-home and community based care; Case Management Services for individuals with developmental disabilities; Family Support Services to individuals and family’s supporting individuals with developmental disabilities; Employment Services for Individuals with developmental disabilities; Homemaker services to frail elderly and those unable to manage the hygiene of their home, providing housekeeping services and nutritional support to those we serve.
Traditional Counseling Services to those in need of counseling support.

Fall/Back to School at the Schenectady JCC

The Robert and Dorothy Ludwig JCC of Schenectady on the Golub Family Campus has been in existence for more than 90 years. The mission is to build a vibrant, welcoming and inclusive community that embraces Jewish values, culture, identity and connections to Israel, engages the local community, and enhances the body, mind and spirit of members. SJCC is the largest Silver Sneakers provider in Schenectady County.
It’s back to school time at Schenectady JCC! Our Early Childhood Education programs are in full swing. ECE offers a bridge between home and school. Spaces are available for preschool and in the toddler playgroup on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
After school with Schenectady JCC offers quality care for elementary school-aged children in a safe, supportive environment, either at Schenectady JCC (A.S.E.P.) or at any of the five Niskayuna Elementary Schools (Kid’s Time). We continue to partner with Living Resources and Niskayuna Central School District to offer inclusive services at all of our programs. Also, keep an eye out for Fit Kids, special small group programs that feature a personal trainer and focuses on physical fitness and healthy living for kids.
We’ll be celebrating the Jewish Holidays (Rosh Hashanah, Sept. 20 and 21; Yom Kippur, Sept. 30; Sukkot, starting Oct. 4; Simchat Torah, Oct. 11) with the return of our Apple and Honey Festival (Sept. 17) which includes a vendor and craft fair; an apple/honey tasting; crafts; face painting; pony rides; and a fun-run/obstacle course.
The Schenectady JCC Jewish Film Festival is back! Starting October 7 and through spring — eight award-winning films representing every genre are coupled with special local presenters for post-film discussions. New this year – two showings of each film!

Albany Poets
Mary Panza, Vice President
Their mission is to promote poetry and the spoken word. From their website: Albany Poets is a local organization whose goal is to promote the poets and poetry of Upstate New York. Albany Poets hosts open mics, poetry readings, slams, music and spoken word events, and the annual Albany Word Fest to increase participation and attendance in the local arts community. Albany Poets’ website, www.albanypoets.com, is the most comprehensive resource in Northeast for news and events listings for poetry and spoken word. Albany Poets also publishes a free quarterly literary zine, OTHER: which showcases poetry, fiction, art, and more from not just the Albany area, but all over the country.
Albany Poets mission is to give everyone the platform to share their poetry with the world. Whether it is at an open mic, on a website, or in print, Albany Poets strives to integrate poetry and spoken word into the Capital Region.

A Talk with Carla Page
Carla Page, Area Personality
To recognize and honor Carla Page for her many years of loving and selfless service to our community and the upstate New York capital district region. My many years of hosting and producing the Carla Page Show, which aired on channel 16 Access television from 1978 to the present, had a great impact in a positive way with all diverse cultures and ages groups. In addition, the show is known for its excellent renowned guests and topics that had an effective impact on our community. There will be a 50/60/70’s band providing musical entertainment at the event.
