Mr. Wilson’s photographs are taken at remote locations along hundreds of miles of railroad tracks which he has traversed on foot, a quarter of New York’s 62 counties. This rare view is presented in photographs as part of the New York Folklore Society’s “Artist in the Gallery” series.
Unique to the generally unseen views of Mr. Wilson’s work is a vibrancy that is post mainstream photography. Wilson employs shooting in low-light conditions, directly into the sun, and upon colorless landscapes.
“I seek the surroundings that the trains set off. Adverse light, coupled with digital darkroom techniques, remarkably allows composition of surreal scenes that enhance the defining character of a subject,” says Wilson.
Mr. Wilson lives in Delaware County.

Community Banking Month — a time to celebrate the longstanding tradition of local hometown community banking.
Community banks are instrumental in building better communities, as they continue to lend to local residents, entrepreneurs and agricultural enterprises—all of which keep America’s rural, suburban and urban communities growing and thriving By driving local economies and creating local jobs, community banks are an integral part of our nation’s financial system.
With nearly 5,000 members, representing more than 24,000 locations nationwide and employing 300,000 Americans, ICBA members hold $1.3 trillion in assets, $1.1 trillion in deposits, and $800 billion in loans to consumers, small businesses and the agricultural community.
There are almost 7,000 community banks, including commercial banks, thrifts, stock and mutual savings institutions, with more than 50,000 locations throughout the United States. Assets may range from less than $10 million to $ 10 billion or more. Community banks constitute 96.8 percent of all banks. Throughout the month of April, the ICBA’s goal is to celebrate the unique role that community banks serve in our nation’s economic system, while helping to educate consumers and small business owners about the benefits of banking locally with their community bank.

- Discover Butterflies – Indoor butterfly pavilion featuring 100s of brilliantly-colored butterflies in a re-creation of their natural habitat. Plus, a chrysalis chamber where new butterflies emerge.
- April & Summer Break Classes – Hands-on STEM learning for kids ages K – 12
- Invention Convention – Invention Convention is an annual student invention competition where students submit an original idea for a device or a method for solving a problem that can occur in the environment, in technology or industry, in the classroom, home or during leisure time activities. A volunteer team evaluates the submissions and chose the top 100 entries, based on a list of ten criteria. These students were invited to make models of their inventions, which are on display at miSci from 5/7-5/19. A winner is awarded on 5/19.
- Transit of Mercury – Watch the planet Mercury cross in front of our sun, during a transit of Mercury! The Dudley Observatory at miSci will have special telescopes set up for safe solar viewing, hands-on sun-themed activities throughout the gallery, and a live stream of the transit. Don’t miss it! The next transit of Mercury doesn’t occur until 2019!
- Return of the Dinosaurs – Ten giant robotic dinosaurs invade miSci, complete with accompanying dino-themed activities, such as an archeological dig, specially-themed planetarium shows and other exciting hands-on activities.

Inspired by Simon’s early career experience as a junior writer (along with his brother Danny) for Your Show of Shows, the play focuses on Sid Caesar-like Max Prince, the star of a weekly comedy-variety show circa 1953, and his staff, including Simon’s alter-ego Lucas Brickman, who maintains a running commentary on the writing, fighting, and wacky antics which take place in the writers’ room.
Max has an ongoing battle with NBC executives, who fear his humor is too sophisticated for Middle America.
It is the intent of Albany Civic Theater to provide education and training in acting, directing, writing, speech, staging, producing, reviewing, and other aspects of the dramatic arts. We aim to encourage and foster community interest and participation in the dramatic arts through the non-profit sponsorship of plays, lectures, publications, workshops, study groups, drama libraries and related activities.

The Schenectady County Human Rights Commission is seeking nominees for its 33rd Annual Human Rights Awards.
The winners will be honored at an Awards Breakfast to be held at the Glen Sanders Mansion, Scotia, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2016.
The deadline for filing applications is April 15th.
Awards will be given in four different categories: youth, individual, community group, and justice award.
Nomination forms are available on the Schenectady County website or by calling the Schenectady County Human Rights Commission office at 377-3823.
All nominees will be introduced and acknowledged at the Awards Breakfast.
The Annual Awards Breakfast is part of the Commission’s ongoing effort to foster mutual respect and enhance understanding among all people in Schenectady County and to assist individuals in securing their constitutional rights.
