Sometimes you have to run away from home to find it again.

Carrie Watts is taking the journey of a lifetime. Deeply unhappy living with her overprotective son and controlling daughter-in-law, this aging widow packs all that she owns and travels to her childhood home of Bountiful, Texas, to reclaim her life, her memories, and her dignity.

THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL features the Capital Region’s own Barbara Howard, acclaimed actress and gospel singer.

With gospel music woven through this powerful play, come renew your belief in the human spirit and dignity for all people.

Sadrina Renee is tickled pink to make her debut (and return to theatre) on the Capital Rep stage! Sadrina was featured in the New Yorker for her role in the Off-Broadway premiere of Southern Promises. Other credits include: Beehive, The 60s Musical (Florida Studio Theatre, Sarasota, FL), The Book of Lambert (La MaMa, NYC), You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Inside Broadway, NYC Tour), and Freedom Train (TheatreworksUSA, National Tour).

Kevin Craig West is and award-winning actor/filmmaker and proud member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA. Now a resident of Los Angeles, Kevin excitedly returns home to Capital Rep where he was seen in RACE, TAKE ME OUT, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, METAMORPHOSES and a host of On-The-GO productions. Some of his recent film work includes the title character in Lionsgate’s Twilight Storytellers – THE GROUNDSKEEPER, and his controversial titled, award-winning short film, currently playing on network affiliates nationwide; I HATE BEING BLACK, which he wrote, directed and starred.
