“Get smART” is the 2016 theme for Kids’ Arts Festival, scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. June 4 on the streets around City hall and the pedestrian mall on Jay Street. Nearly 50 community groups, businesses join with two museums, firefighters, the county sheriff and an observatory to provide tried and true arts and crafts activities, as well as science as we’ll have a focus on inventions and celebrate the rich history of inventors in Schenectady. A smART parade kicks off at 3:45 p.m. featuring kids with any inventions or musical instruments they’ve created during the day. Rain location is inside City Hall. Nearly every activity is free thanks to support from the Schenectady County Legislature, the City of Schenectady, the ElectriCity Arts district, dozens of volunteers and a long list of sponsors.which are on our website at www.kidsartsfestivalschenectady.com Their mission is to provide an outdoor arts festival in downtown Schenectady for pre-school and school-age children.
