Below you will find listings for our interesting on-air guests for the next four weeks.  Check out the lists below for our great variety of topics.  We start filming at 10 am in THE ADDY THEATRE on Tuesday. A live audience is always welcome and there are plenty of seats. You can meet the guests in person and learn more about their projects or even get involved yourself.

Don Hyman & a Tribute to Aretha Franklin

Don “The Soul Man” Hyman, Performing

Don “The Soul Man” Hyman will be presenting a Tribute to Aretha Franklin on the show.  He’ll discuss her life and will read a piece called “Lady Soul”.  She was born on March 25, 1942 in Memphis, TN and passed away on August 16, 2018 in Detroit MI.

Don recently was presented the National Veterans Creative Arts Award for Drama at the 2018 Competition.  He presented “Frederick Douglas Goes to Washington” and Men, Cry too”.

The Gingerbread Lady at Albany Civic Theater

Through wit and humor, Simon creates a tragically sympathetic portrait of a talented woman undone by her own fears and excesses. Written in 1970, this portrait of the effects of substance abuse is still strikingly relevant today.

MEN ON BOATS by Jaclyn Backhaus is the adventurous play about the 1869 exploration and charting of the Colorado River by a one-armed Civil War major and his insane but loyal crew. Played by a cast of women.

  • Mission: Acting Class with Patrick White is a Saturday morning acting class for all levels and seeks to educate, inform and inspire developing the skills and instincts of all interested in the dramatic arts thru exercises, games, audition prep and scene work so they can contribute and shape the burgeoning Capital Region theater scene.

Story Circle at Proctors – Mavericks

Yes, mavericks are horses and Dallas basketball players. Come hear stories of other kinds of mavericks – people who did not go along with everyone else, who created their own path, for better or for worse.

  • Mission: To present events where performers tell rarely heard contemporary and traditional stories which celebrate the human spirit. These shows are shared experiences between the audience and the performer, combining the intensity of a solo performance with the intimacy of a face-to-face conversation

Stockade Villagers’ Outdoor Art Show

Just a great day to showcase your art work and be with like-minded people.  A chance to win one of the many cash/ribbon awards totaling $1,100.00, at the end of the day. You can register the day of the event, bring downloaded forms and $40.00. There is parking, available places to eat, visit the Stockade as well as the other events going on that day.

We also try to highlight local artists and musicians whenever possible.
