The book covers the history of the GE Realty Plot from Thomas Edison’s arrival in Schenectady, through the desperate attempts to save the homes in the 1970s. Segment FOUR

Parabellum a Spy/Thriller

John Mullins a/k/a Jack Nanuq, Author

How does a POW become a spy? And why?  And what the hell is a GALCO?  These are only a few of the questions Carson Nowak needs answers to.

CARSON NOWAK is a CIA contractor like none you’ve ever met before. Carson is tasked with retrieving a trunk full of documents. The order comes not from the Agency or even the President, but a higher authority; his nana. In addition to the documents the trunk also contains a war relic tied to a mysterious death just before D-Day. Tracing the provenance of this relic triggers a chain of events that not only unlocks Carson’s family history but garners the interest of a South American hit squad. Carson must navigate the challenges of protecting his family, maintaining his business, ensuring the safety of a young refugee developing a revolutionary weapons system, and deal with an infuriating curmudgeon. Along the way he falls in love. To navigate these challenges, he enlists the help of a pencil-thin code breaker, a claustrophobic corpsman and a Haitian nurse.

PARABELLUM, the novel, is spy/mystery/thriller novel set in Upstate NY, with flashbacks to both World War I and World War II.

PARABELLUM, the word, is a Latin term which loosely translates to “When you live in peace, Prepare for war”.

The writing style is a mash-up of C.J. Box meets Daniel Silva, meets John le Carre.

I’m going to start with the promotional campaign. This year I will be helping to sponsor two young athletes compete in the AAU TAE KWON DO National Championships. This competition is being held in Ft Lauderdale, FL; during the first week of July 2019.

I am fortunate to have the opportunity to both teach and study Tae Kwon Do in the Duanesburg, NY area. I also have the privilege of working with two young athletes that have qualified to compete on a National level.  As I said both athletes are scheduled to compete at the AAU TAE KWON DO National Championships in Ft Lauderdale, FL; during the first week of July 2019.  To help with travel, lodging and fees I am dedicating a percentage of book sales revenues to help these athletes. Here’s how it works:

From now until June 30, 2019 I will donate up to $3, for each Amazon sale. I will donate $2 for the sale and an additional $1 for a verified buyer review. So, if you buy a book and post a review these athletes will get a total of $3, it’s that simple.  Please help me support them in their endeavor.  They have worked very hard to get where they are and will continue to strive to be the best they can be.

  • Book Title: Parabellum (When you live in Peace, Prepare for War) – Spy/Thriller (available on Amazon)
  • Event: Kick Start Campaign
  • Location of event: Social Media
  • Date/Time: Through June 30

Let My Legacy be Love: Story of Discovery & Transformation

Christina A. Beauchemin, Author

Do you feel stuck? Second best? Like you are everyone’s doormat? Or worse? If so, it’s time for a breakthrough! In this one-of-a-kind creative workshop, we’ll start you on the path to Reveal, Release and Reclaim the real you!
? Reveal: Local author Christina Beauchemin will walk you through the concept of “A Pearl,” where you will examine how one story from your past may be holding you an unwilling prisoner today. Through an interactive session, you’ll begin to understand the root of a current challenge as you prepare yourself to release it.
? Release: Jacky Vimislik, owner of Stress Fracture LLC, will assist you in physically releasing your old story. In a safe and controlled environment, you will be given permission to break things. (Yes, you read that right!) The act of breaking things will be a physical representation of letting go of the old and bringing in the new.
? Reclaim: Finally, you reclaim the real you through artistic expression as local artist Dina Ziskin-Fortune guides you in creating a version of yourself as the hero in your new story.

Christina Beauchemin was born in Sharon Springs, NY where she grew up on a dairy farm with her ten siblings. She credits growing up in a big family with teaching her the value of hard work, personal perspective, teamwork, and compassion for her fellow living creatures. Until leaving her career to write “Let My Legacy Be Love,” she was a business professional with a concentration on streamlining processes to promote organizational efficiency, a vocal instructor and a working singer/songwriter. Currently, when she isn’t giving motivational speeches or and presenting self-discovery workshops, she lives in rural upstate New York with her husband, Rick, and their dog, Kye.
