From their Press Release: For 2017, Broadway Camp—part of the School of the Performing Arts at Proctors—has expanded its course offerings and is delving even deeper into the process of creating a production with the Tony Award®-winning Broadway classic Pippin, the tale of a young prince taking a soul journey with a mysterious group of traveling players.
Pippin plays at Proctors, 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4; and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5. Tickets, $10, are available at the Box Office at Proctors, 432 State Street, Schenectady; by phone at 518.346.6204; and online at proctors.org.

Bradford Smith Photographic Exhibit

Renowned, Schenectady photographer Bradford Smith passed away in June of 2016. During his long and varied career he was a photographer in NYC in the 40s and 50s. Brad would take photos of fashion models by day and their nude portraits by night. Brad left the Big City and returned to his beloved upstate NY and purchased a home in Ballston Spa. That very home is now Brookside Museum.
For the first and last time, the public will have the opportunity to view and purchase Bradford Smith’s vintage fashion and vintage nude prints. Each of these pieces were taken over fifty years ago and were printed within a year of being shot. These are the originals Bradford had safely hidden away all these years. Attention vintage photography collectors. Vintage prints with certificates of authentication for sale.
Bradford J. Smith, Brookside’s most famous – and colorful – occupant, came to Ballston Spa after an illustrious career as a photographer in New York City during the 1940s and 1950s. By day, fashion photos for Harper’s Bazaar. By night, nude portraits of aspiring actresses.
Bradford’s (now) vintage photography will be shown in an atmosphere evoking those early days of Madison Avenue’s advertising “mad “ men.
This is a golden opportunity to own a piece of history as vintage prints will go to Heritage Auction House photography auction in October 2017. Sale of these one of a kind vintage photos will benefit the Saratoga County Historical Society.
