            Becky’s New Car is a comedy about life and the roads we take through it.

Milk Like Sugar by Callaloo Theater Company

Morgan Elizabeth Heyward, Actor; Marquis Heath, Actor

            It is Annie Desmond’s sixteenth birthday and her friends have decided to help her celebrate in style, complete with a brand new tattoo. Before her special night is over, however, Annie and her friends enter into a life altering pact. When Annie tries to make good on her promise to her friends, she is forced to take a good look at the world that surrounds her. She befriends Malik, who promises a bright future, and Keera, whose evangelical leanings inspire Annie in a way her young parents have not been able to do. In the end Annie’s choices propel her onto an irreversible path in this story that combines wit, poetry, and hope.

            As a staple in the artistic community, Miss Jones has directed several groundbreaking and lucrative plays including, Clybourne Park, The Colored Museum, A Soldier’s Play, and A Raisin in the Sun.  Miss Jones is the recipient of five awards from the Theater Association of New York State for her work.  As a member of the African American Cultural Center of the Capital Region (AACCCR), Miss Jones has worked tirelessly on several of its events as a part of the Programming Committee.  It is the intention of Callaloo Theater Company to continue presenting excellent productions that will profit critically and financially and be the Arts Mecca of the Capital Region.

Schenectady Job Fair

            We are expecting over 40 employers from the capital region and beyond who have positions open for various skill levels from service industry, healthcare, clerical, manufacturing etc.

            Job Seekers should bring a copy of their resume’, dress to impress and visit those booths that are of interest to them.  In addition they can have their resume’ critiqued by are Human Resource Professionals through the Capital Region Human Resource Association and also attend workshops, presented by area professionals. These workshops are aimed at offering tips on interviewing, writing a resume’ and thinking outside the box in the job search.

Segment FIVE

Play with your Food Fundraiser

            The evening consists of a 3 course meal of chicken, salmon, or vegetarian option.  In between courses, three One act plays written and performed by Joe Starzyk and his merry band will be presented.  The names of the plays this year are: *The Blind Date : Dave goes on a blind date hoping to meet the woman of his dreams, but it turns out to be something he never expected. *Another Day in Paradise: The real story of the Garden of Eden. *Infesting the Mob: Two mobsters afternoon espressos are interrupted by the presence of a sinister stranger.

            Fundraiser: 100% of the net profits will go directly to benefit the Arc of Rensselaer County

            Joe Starzyk is the Sales Manager at the Arc and is 32 year employee.  He is also the writer and director of the 1 act plays that will be presented at this event.

            Donald Mullin is the CEO of Arc Rensselaer and is a 20 year employee,

• Mission: The mission of The Arc of Rensselaer County is to advocate for the rights and safety of individuals of all ages who have an intellectual disability and/or a developmental disability or delay. It is a source of support, specialized knowledge, and available resources in assisting individuals and their families to meet their needs and goals. The Arc works to influence societal attitudes and governmental policy so that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities will have access to the services, assistance, and opportunities they need for personal growth and development, and participation in the community.
