My father, Louis “Label” Wichinsky made headlines around the world for his out-of-the box inventions from the 1960s until his death in 2000. In Beane’s satirical comedy, called “A delicious souffle of satire” by the New York Times, Evan Wyler has just finished a photo shoot. No, he’s not a super model, just a twenty-something New York writer savoring the success of his debut novel. Evan captures the attention of Alexa Vere de Vere, a glamorous woman of mystery who’s made the world of celebrity her home. In fact, it’s her religion.  She wants Evan to write the screenplay of her life story. But, Alexa vanishes, leaving him to foot the bill for all the dinners and Armani suits they’ve gone through. Trying to find Alexa, Evan discovers a chain of people who have fallen under her spell and acted as her meal ticket. The Civic Players cast features Knathan MacKenzie-Roy (as Evan Wyler), Cristine M. Loffredo (as Alexa Vere de Vere), and Jason Biszick, Pat Brady, Laura Graver, and Michael Schaefer in multiple roles as the chain of people discovered by Evan.
