  • Book Sale at the Sch’dy County Public Library – noon to 3 pm. $2 per bag of books)
  • Spring/Summer Location — Outside Schenectady Greenmarket – around City Hall from 10 am to 2 pm. Music, food, vendors and more.

  • Enlightenment Now: Case for Reason, Science, Humanism and Progress” by Steven Pinker – Book reviewed by Phil Adams. Book Sandwiched in at the Main Branch of the Sch’dy Public Library at noon.

May 7 (Tues)

  • Filming of Schenectady Today In & Around the Capital Region from 10-11 am in the ADDY Theater at Proctors (3rd Floor)
  • Book Release Party at the Sch’dy Historical Society in the Stockade for Chris Leonard and his new book on the Sch’dy GE Plot from 6-8 pm/
  • Bill Gaillard  and Sandy Johnson performing — Free Organ Concert Series at Proctors at Noon

May 8 (Wed)

  • Leadfoot Lucy Car Show from 3-9 pm at Kohl’s Plaza – this events runs on Wednesdays through Sept. 25.
  • Eliminating Racism & Homophobia: Cuba’s achievements and Challenges. Presentation by Prof. Tomas Fernandez Robaina  (U. of Havana) at 160 Central Ave. in Albany 7 pm – Refreshments provided

Regular guests include Representatives from the Animal Protective Foundation; faculty from the various area institutions of higher learning discussing health and community issues; Representatives from City, County and State agencies; actors and directors from the theREP, Proctors Theatre, Circle Theatre Players at Sand Lake Center for the Arts, Schenectady Civic Players, Schenectady Light Opera, Albany Civic Players, Classic Theater Guild, and many other area theatrical groups; Tax Specialists from the Internal Revenue Service (during tax season); Representatives from Schenectady County Library; area museums including miSci & ESAM and many area non-profit organizations. We also try to highlight local artists and musicians whenever possible.
