  • Books Sandwiched In at Noon: The Globalization Paradox: Democracy and the Future of the World Economy” by Dani Rodrik reviewed by Dr. Richard Alben. Main Branch Sch’dy Public Library
  • Rumble: Indians Who Rocked the World – film screening and presentation by Tim Johnson, Exec. Producer. Native Americans influence on music. 7-9:30 pm at SUNY Cobleskill – Room 001 – Light refreshments.
  • Join us for the filming of The Schenectady Today Show at Proctors Underground at 10 am. This will be our last filming at Proctors Underground. We’re moving to THE ADDY THEATRE at Proctors.

  • Citizen Science: American Woodcock Survey Training from 7-9 pm at the Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center on new Karner Road.
  • Cuba-US Relations: A New Path presentation by Miguel Fraga, 1st Secretary of Cuban Embassy to the US. Unitarian Universalist Society at 405 Washington Ave. Albany, NY across from SUNYA Downtown Campus. 7 pm – Open to the Public

Apr 14 (Sat)

  • Signs of Spring hike at Woodlawn Preserve meet at Trailhead from 11 to 12:30 pm. Gifford Road 12304. Sponsored by Albany Pine Bush.
  • March for Science – Albany – rally from 1-4 pm at the West Capital Lawn. Citizen Science Day. Activity tables, speeches and march.
  • Repair Café at the Sch’dy Library Main Branch at 99 Clinton. Bring your items for repair. From 10 am to 2 pm. New event!
  • Birding for Beginners in the Reist Sanctuary. Call to register 518-388-7000
  • 2016 Schoharie County Grants Awards Ceremony & pot luck dinner and jam session. Bring a dish to share and instrument to play. The Hall in West Fulton at 6 pm.

Regular guests include Representatives from the Animal Protective Foundation; faculty from the various area institutions of higher learning discussing health and community issues; Representatives from City, County and State agencies; actors and directors from the theREP, Proctors Theatre, Circle Theatre Players at Sand Lake Center for the Arts, Schenectady Civic Players, Schenectady Light Opera, Albany Civic Players, Classic Theater Guild, and many other area theatrical groups; Tax Specialists from the Internal Revenue Service (during tax season); Representatives from Schenectady County Library; area museums including miSci & ESAM and many area non-profit organizations. We also try to highlight local artists and musicians whenever possible.
