  • Town of Niskayuna Holiday Tree Lighting at 5:30 pm at Town Hall. Hot chocolate and cookies and performance by NHS Choir.
  • Tis the Season: A Holiday Concert by the Music Company Orchestra at the Niskayuna Reformed Church, 3041 Troy-Schenectady Road at 3:00 pm

Dec 10 (Mon)

  • The Rogues will be performing from 2-5 pm at the Rivers Casino
  • Opera Series with Josef Schmme – covering Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera this week. Noon at the main branch of the Sch’dy Public Library.

Dec 11 (Tues)

  • Stephen Brew on Guitar performing at Troy Music Hall at noon (hall opens at 11 am)
  • Sch’dy Today Show on Location: Tour the Museum of Innovation and Science on t Schenectady Today In & Around the Capital Region – Filmed on Location

  • Movie: Jurassic World – Fallen Kingdom at noon at the main branch of the Sch’dy County Public Library.
  • Living in Darkness (storytellers) sponsored by the Interfaith Story Circle. From 7-9 pm at Hubbard Interfaith Sanctuary at 959 Madison Ave. Storyteller Laureate, Karen Pillsworth.
  • Documentary Film “Sin Embargo/Never the Less” – 160 Central Ave. in Albany at 7 pm. – Sponsored by Albany Cuba Solidarity. This is a powerful award-winning film.
  • The Concept of Innovation in Chinese History and Reality – Speaker Program at the Colonie Library by Dr. Chuanhua Gu, Prof. of Psychology, Central China Normal University. 6-8 pm

Dec 13 (Thurs)

  • Do it Yourself Gifts at the Main Branch of the Sch’dy County public library (Druzy Essential Oil Necklace) from 5:30 to 7:30 pm Register ahead.

Dec 15 (Sat)

  • Discover the Pine Bush at 10:30 am – suitable for all ages. Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center on New Karner Road.
  • Wintertide Tours and treats at the Historic Mabee House at 2 pm. (also on Dec. 22). Rotterdam Junction

Dec 16 (Sun)

  • Schenectady Greenmarket at Proctors from 1 am to 2 pm. Food, vendors, local produce and bakery, music and more. Meet your neighbors.
  • Invertebrates in Winter for Adults at 1 pm – Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center on New Karner Road.

Ongoing Events:

  • Through Dec. 19 – Shaker Christmas Craft Fair — Mon through Sat from 10 am to 5 pm (Thursdays to 8 pm) at 1848 Shaker Meeting House at 25 Meeting House Road in Albany. (over 50 crafters)

Regular guests include Representatives from the Animal Protective Foundation; faculty from the various area institutions of higher learning discussing health and community issues; Representatives from City, County and State agencies; actors and directors from the theREP, Proctors Theatre, Circle Theatre Players at Sand Lake Center for the Arts, Schenectady Civic Players, Schenectady Light Opera, Albany Civic Players, Classic Theater Guild, and many other area theatrical groups; Tax Specialists from the Internal Revenue Service (during tax season); Representatives from Schenectady County Library; area museums including miSci & ESAM and many area non-profit organizations. We also try to highlight local artists and musicians whenever possible.
