  • Flint House Fall Festival from 11 am to 3 pm. Scotia. Musicians of Ma’alwyck will perform at 1:30 pm. Bring a chair & picnic and enjoy the event.
  • Staged Reading of “Three Viewings” at 2:30 pm at Sch’dy Civic Players in the Stockade (donations accepted). Open seating.
  • Walk for RITA Annual Out of Darkness Walk at 9 am in Saratoga
  • Children’s Picture Book exhibit at Capital District Chinese School Colonie Library from 1 to 4:30 pm (part of Chinese Cultural Festival)
  • Adirondack Balloon Festival at Lake George. Starts at 5 am

Sept 24 (Mon)

  • Full Moon Hike for adults at the Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center at 6:30 pm

Sept 25 (Tues)

  • “Uncommon Type” — Book Discussion at 6:30 pm in the Swanker Board Room of the Sch’dy Public Library
  • Forgettable Four will be performing on our stage. Schenectady Today In & Around the Capital Region is Filmed at the ADDY Theatre at Proctors at 10 am. Audience welcome

  • National Ballroom Dance Week Celebration with Dance Demonstrations – Colonie Center – two dance performance shows (6:30 and 7:30 pm)
  • “Rampage” — Reels at Noon – Film Series at Sch’dy Public Library – main branch
  • Urbanization and Children of Migrants in China by Prof. Kam Wing Chen at noon – SUNYA Standish Room 3rd floor of Science Library

  • Comedy — The Old Lady’s Guide to Survival at 8 pm at the Church of the Covenant, 2055 NY 43 Averill Park. Carol Johnson and Barbara L. Smith performing.

Sept 28 (Fri)

  • Groovin’ @ Gateway (music, food & Fun) at the Gateway Plaza at 12 State Street in Sch’dy. It’s a new performance space. 5:30 to 7:30 pm
  • Comedy — The Old Lady’s Guide to Survival at 8 pm at the Church of the Covenant, 2055 NY 43 Averill Park. Carol Johnson and Barbara L. Smith performing.
  • Art in the Park – Congress Park in Saratoga 10 am to 4 pm (about 80 artists)

Sept 29 (Sat)

  • Pet Expo at Viaport Rotterdam Mall from 11 am to 3 pm
  • Birds Take Flight at 7 am – suitable for tweens and up. Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center, New Karner Road
  • Albany Book Festival at UALbany Campus Center from 10 am to 4 pm

Sept 30 (Sun)

  • Schenectady Greenmarket around City Hall from 10 am to 2 pm. Music, food, vendors and fresh produce.
  • Brilliant and Bristly Buckmoths suitable from 6 and up. 0.9 mi hike. Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center.

Regular guests include Representatives from the Animal Protective Foundation; faculty from the various area institutions of higher learning discussing health and community issues; Representatives from City, County and State agencies; actors and directors from the theREP, Proctors Theatre, Circle Theatre Players at Sand Lake Center for the Arts, Schenectady Civic Players, Schenectady Light Opera, Albany Civic Players, Classic Theater Guild, and many other area theatrical groups; Tax Specialists from the Internal Revenue Service (during tax season); Representatives from Schenectady County Library; area museums including miSci & ESAM and many area non-profit organizations. We also try to highlight local artists and musicians whenever possible.
