  • Musical Performance: Celebrated Classical Composers from 2 to 3:30 pm at William K. Sanford Town Library on Albany Shaker Rd. Loudonville.

Oct 14 (Mon) – Celebrating Columbus Day

  • Smokey Bear Day from 10 am to 2 pm – suitable for all ages. Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center at 195 New Karner Road. Call 518-456-0655 to get on the list.
  • Columbus Day Celebration at 11 am. Special Performance by Michael Knowles. Reception follows.
  • Times Union Job Fair from 10 am to 4 pm at Albany Marriott on Wolf Road.

Oct 15 (Tues)

  • Filming of Schenectady- Capital Region Today in the ADDY Theater at Proctors. 10-11 am. Meet the on-air Guests in person. Plenty of Audience Seating. Arrive before 10 am.
  • NABA’s Low Vision Technology Fair from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church at 440 Whitehall Rd. Albany
  • Free Community Supper “Be Our Guest” at Bethany Reformed Church at 760 New Scotland Ave. at 4:45 pm to 5:45 pm

Oct 16 (Wed)

  • Saratoga Job Fair at Saratoga City Center from 10 am to 4 pm & Career Building EXPO
  • The Secret Life of Pets 2 – Reel’s Film Series at the main branch of the Sch’dy Public Library at noon
  • Pride of America – a musical salute to our Nation’s Veterans presented by the Memorial Concert Band of Colonie. 7:30 to 9:30 pm at Colonie Central High School – 1 Raider Blvd.
  • Battle of the Plains of Abraham at Clifton Park Halfmoon Public Library on Moe Road 8 pm.  Presentation by Bernard Ouimet.

Oct 17 (Thurs)

  • 28th Annual Capital Region Senior Expo at Crossgates Mall from 9 am to 2 pm.
  • Sharon Springs Poetry Festival – evening at the Sharon Springs School auditorium
  • Vitalogy (Pearl Jam Experience) Free to those with Rush Rewards Card (available at Service Desk) at the Rivers. 8 pm (pick up tickets at rewards center day of event)

  • Downtown Sch’dy Fall Spooktacular at Gateway Plaza (12 State St) from 2 to 7 pm. Lots of activities and outdoor movie of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”. Chance to get tickets to “Frozen” at Proctors.

Oct 20 (Sun)

  • Music Company Orchestra concert at First Reformed Church in Sch’dy (8 N. Church ST). Light Classical music – free will offering to support SiCM Food Program. Bring a canned good
  • Celebrate Diwali from 1 – 3 pm at the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library on Moe Road.

Regular guests include Representatives from the Animal Protective Foundation; faculty from the various area institutions of higher learning discussing health and community issues; Representatives from City, County and State agencies; actors and directors from the theREP, Proctors Theatre, Circle Theatre Players at Sand Lake Center for the Arts, Schenectady Civic Players, Schenectady Light Opera, Albany Civic Players, Classic Theater Guild, and many other area theatrical groups; Tax Specialists from the Internal Revenue Service (during tax season); Representatives from Schenectady County Library; area museums including miSci & ESAM and many area non-profit organizations. We also try to highlight local artists and musicians whenever possible.
