May 12 (Sun) – Mother’s Day

  • 71st Annual Tulip Festival in Albany – Washington Park in Albany – Entertainment throughout the day
  • Spring/Summer Location — Outside Schenectady Greenmarket – around City Hall from 10 am to 2 pm. Music, food, vendors and more.

May 13 (Mon)

  • Healthy Cooking Presentation at the Niskayuna Branch of the Sch’dy Co Public Library 1:30 pm

May 14 (Tues)

  • Filming of Schenectady Today In & Around the Capital Region from 10-11 am in the ADDY Theater at Proctors (3rd Floor)
  • Findlay Cockrell on piano performing at Troy Music Hall at noon (hall opens at 11 am)

May 15 (Wed)

  • Job Fair at Crossgates Mall from 11 am to 4 pm
  • “Mary Poppins Returns” at noon at the Sch’dy Public Library main branch.
  • Leadfoot Lucy Car Show from 3-9 pm at Kohl’s Plaza – this events runs on Wednesdays through Sept. 25.
  • Stories of the Mystic at the Interfaith Story Circle at the Hindu Temple at 450 Albany Shaker Road from 7-9 pm

May 17 (Fri)

  • Dedication of the Harriet Tubman and William Seward Statue Dedication at 11 am – Sch’dy County Public Library Main Branch

May 18 (Sat)

  • NiskaDay 38 – Hats Off to Nisky!  Starts off with a parade at 10 am – a full day of activities and fun for the whole family
  • 3rd Annual Electric City Trucks, Taps, Corks and Forks at the parking lot at Liberty and Broadway (downtown) from noon to 4 pm (pay only for what you want to eat and drink)
  • Book Signing by Chris Leonard at the Open Door Bookstore ( Schenectady GE Plot) at 1 pm
  • Friends and Family United — Fly a Kite Day from 2-5 pm along the Mohawk River in Scotia – Kites will be provided.
  • Lupine Fest – all ages welcome. Albany Pine Bush Discovery center at 195 New Karner Rd. Albany

May 19 (Sun)

We also try to highlight local artists and musicians whenever possible.
