  • POSTPONED TO Feb 28 same place at 6 pm Annual MLK 2019 Celebration (33rd) Service at 2:30 pm. Theme: Celebrate! Act! Humanity tied in a Single Garment of Destiny” and special recognition of MLK 90th Birthday. SUNY Sch’dy County Community College in the Taylor Auditorium.

  • Schenectady Today In & Around the Capital Region is filmed at Proctor’s Addy Theatre at 10 am.  Plenty of audience seating.  Meet the on-air guests in person.

Jan 23 (Wed)

  • The Equalizer 2 – Free Film series in McChesney Road at Sch’dy County Public Library at noon
  • Interfaith Story Circle — The Tent of Abraham at Congregation Gates of Heaven in Sch’dy – nut-free vegetarian pot luck supper from 6:15 to 7:15 pm and stories from the Jewish, Muslim and Christian traditions following until 9 pm.
  • Winter’s Eve Nature Sketching from 6 – 8 pm – suitable for teens and above. Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center, 195 New Karner Road.

Jan 24 (Thurs)

  • Free Gentle Yoga Class from 7-8 pm at Niskayuna Town Hall – Board Room. Open to the public and walk-ins are welcome

  • Pine Bush Night Hike at 6:30 pm. Adults. Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center at 195 New Karner Road.

  • Discover the Pine Bush at 10:30 am. Suitable for all ages. 195 New Karner Road, Albany
  • Annual Schenectady Soup Stroll (4th) in Downtown Sch’dy from 11 am to 4 pm. The only charge is what you want to sample. Samples are $1 for 3 oz.

Regular guests include Representatives from the Animal Protective Foundation; faculty from the various area institutions of higher learning discussing health and community issues; Representatives from City, County and State agencies; actors and directors from the theREP, Proctors Theatre, Circle Theatre Players at Sand Lake Center for the Arts, Schenectady Civic Players, Schenectady Light Opera, Albany Civic Players, Classic Theater Guild, and many other area theatrical groups; Tax Specialists from the Internal Revenue Service (during tax season); Representatives from Schenectady County Library; area museums including miSci & ESAM and many area non-profit organizations. We also try to highlight local artists and musicians whenever possible.
